Depends on your terrain and your need for speed. I average 19 mixed with a '97 auto. Add 1.5MPG for a stick, another .5MPG for VANOS cars (10/98 build date or later for 540Is)

- New Valve Cover Gaskets, clean oil from plugs/wells. You cleaned it up, but the oil is returning due to VCG leaking.
