Chrome exhaust tips were the first thing that I added to my Z3. I purchased OEM from BavAuto. They really dress up the rear and I am always surprised why more owners don't have them.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do not think that car would be a good buy at any price. You should be able to find a 96 z3 with high mileage, possibly from the original owner for...

Split Forums

I am a Z3 owner, but I enjoy reading about both cars. In the event that I ever wear out my car I might consider buying a Z4, if I can't find another Z3.:D

Gas Cap

The only OEM replacement option is to buy the cap plus the retainer for about $25. I made my own retainer out of a piece of parachute cord.

New Z3 Wheels

I switched my Style 55 wheels for some Style 104s. I don't recall seeing these on a Z3 before, and I am pleased with the fresh look. Costco gives great tire and wheel service.

The sound is probably your fuel pump. I have not heard it on my 2.5i, but I have heard a similar sound on other cars.

For the shift knob I would recommend the BMW ZHP which is weighted and shorter than a standard knob. I paid about $65. I would definitely go for a leather shift boot. Your Z deserves nothing...

Talking 5 Speed for Me

Manual is half the fun for me. Fortunately I get a good mixture of city and rural driving. Blue Ridge Parkway is only only 75 miles away. Getting there on the secondary roads is even better.
