Can also be used as a "shortcut" to prevent Auto Start Stop system from cutting engine.

I also routinely use it before overtaking on single lane roads.

Rear pads were recently replaced @ 50 000km service. No lights came on - but technician phoned in and requested permission to replace. I do not use auto hold parking brake function. Still interesting...

Correct - fan speed should be on - at least at lowest setting. If sunroof present - it could be manipulated to increase drawing in outside air .
