There's a plastic cover in the glovebox that needs to come out. Once that is removed you'll see two Torx or Allen-head screws, one on each side of the changer. Turn these screws counter-clockwise....

Do yourself a favor and remove the electric fan from the car to give yourself some extra room. It will take about 10-15 minutes and it is worth it!

Well, it would be easy on a normal car, but not this one. You have to remove the clap-trap that BMW installed over the brake fluid reservoir first.
