My dogs don't ride in my e63. So do what I did. Buy an E46 touring off eBay as your "dog car".

For me it has become pretty consistent between 35 and 45 mph. I find it to happen only when you hold it at a certain speed within that range. It's very rhythmic it will lag more than surge ever 4-5...

I don't know that the nose would be removed. Can't you access it from the driver's side wheel arch? That seems a lot easier than taking the bumper assembly off.
