The only thing I could find is 3 repair procedures. Replacing the right/left timing chain tensionsers and replacing the timing chain.

The problem only shows up when the car is sitting in the sun for a very long time. Some of that thick WD40 helps as well.

Thats pretty much what I did first time around...

Thats pretty much what I did first time around but I put a small copper jumper between #17 and #20 in the femaie side.

In the end, I just picked up an 20 to 16 pin adapter. It was only $15.

How did you manage to prevent a check engine light from coming on ?

The catalytic converters have a O2 sensor before and after the 2 cats to make sure they are working properly.
