Could be some problem with the RF transceiver at the key switch, or with the electronic module that reads it. A BMW scan tool might help narrow it down.

Possibly, one or both rubber boots between the MAF and the throttle body now have a tear in them.
Replace the paper air filter. Trying to clean it is only fooling yourself.

They can't "copy" it because of the chip. They have to send for one of the ten chips that were originally made to match your car. Then a new key can be cut with that chip in it.

I've never done a flush as I've never had a reason to. The correct oil has good detergents in it. I am curious as to what problem you are trying to solve with your "spotless" and "very clean"...

Anything is possible with enough time and money, but not everything is practical. I suspect that your most reasonable option would be to sell the car that doesn't have this system and then buy one...

The holes aren't in the floor mats. The carpet on the floor should have two holes for each floor mat. See picture below for the parts that go in these holes and then grab the velcro on the floor...

There's a line inside the fuel tank that goes to the bottom of the tray that the electric fuel pump is in. This is fuel from the jet pump.

Yes, I did. Post #23 in this thread. And, there are actually two pumps, not one. (Only one is electrically powered, the other is hydraulically powered from the fuel flow from the electric pump.)
