Wow! You got lucky on that one! I say your fix looks like it should be fine as long as there is no more chance of the alternator feed wire grounding out again.

Sounds like the ABS module needs to be replaced but usually when those go bad, you have the ABS and brake lights on the instrument cluster.

I assume the mechanic bought one from a salvage yard. They just cut the wire harness and sell it with the plug, that way if you need that too, you get it. Since yours is fine, they just put the cut...

I just ran into that problem myself. The fuse kept blowing so I unplugged the fuel door lock, replaced the fuse, and all is good now!
