THe natural wood trim is "grey" in tone and so goes well with ivory. It also blends in well with the gloss black trim on the dash around the radio.

I had similar issue with my 2009 E70 35d. BMW threw in a whole bunch of parts including a new turbo. I finally traded it in(as it was out of warranty) for a gas 2014 F15 35i to have the same issues...
