Hmmm. Not sure if they gave you the factory adapter then. If you received all of the documents and booklets with the car there is a supplement that reviews the filler adapter and other issues...

The engine problems that BMW had in the 1990's were related to Nikasil cylinder wall plating. As the name implies this is a plating process to impart a hard nickle-silicon layer for wear resistance....

On our 2010 the fuel cap states B7 max. However the manual specifies B5. What does the 2011 manual say? As others have stated B7 is a European standard for biodiesel blend.
