Ideally yes, and with the car in the air supported by jackstands or hydraulic lift, position the suspension bits at normal ride height(for the new C/o kit) and torque 'em down.

I'm fortunate to own an E30 M3(2900 lb), an E36M3(aka 332iS) (3300lb) and a Lotus 7 clone (1280 Lb).

Sounds like a sensor as it the Light comes on after it misses a speed impulse after the car is in motion.
try cleaning the two front sensors first.
