Because it is. x-drive has a slightly higher and slightly softer suspension than a base RWD F30.

So it was the bumper that had this happen, because your original post said "spoiler", which confused me because I also have a 328xi sport and it does not have a "spoiler" at all. I leased the car...

Can someone please sum up the various suspension options?

Your salesperson was mistaken. Sport mode changes the chassis dynamics, the car gets stiffer. You can also choose whether chassis is adjusted in sport mode on ZDH equipped cars.

In comfort mode the ZDH active suspension soaks up bumps and rough pavement better than the stock x-drive suspension and the car feels slightly less "floaty". ZDH is a relatively inexpensive option....

With the exception of one individual who insisted he "couldn't feel the difference" of ZDH, every single other owner I am aware of is very happy that they chose it. I imagine you will be pleased.

Well, sport line x-drive cars don't come with sport suspension and the line costs just as much as it does on RWD, so there's pain to go around.

The problem with your statement is that comfort "is" more comfortable for general cruising. My hour long commute is far less taxing to me as a driver in comfort mode than sport. Tackling challenging...

People get completely hung up over a few mm of ground clearance or a 5mm difference in wheel gap like its a huge deal. Should be in a slammed civic instead of a BMW.
