Not sure if you should fire your mechanic or not, spacer would not change gear ratio it may create rubbing but unlikely unless you lower the X6.

I just cleaned the MAF using CRC aerosol and changed the spark plugs yesterday, the stutter under-load at 1000 rpm is completely gone.

clearly it's the temp sensor, their tools can read coolant temp if it's still low and the warning come in then most likely it's the sensor.

that's normal, I've found sands in the plug well, just used a shop vac with straw taped in to suck all of it out.

yours look like carbon dropping when you pull the old plug.

Also, I can't imagine the dealer can't diagnose it...

maybe low coolant, bad thermostat or water-pump, that's usually the problem first, if not then it's a defect in mfg or design

I think you either have bad injector or coil, if you have the diagnostic tools try to move the coil pack from cylinder 1 to 2, if the code goes to 1 then it's bad coil.
LPFP symptom is rather sudden...

I've got stranded twice, reset the code and it kept on coming back. Google the code and was able to narrow it down to LP...

Just replaced my N55 plugs, only cylinder 1 & 2 are not carbon up, the rest I can see carbon build up on top of piston. Time for walnut blasting.
Maybe yours need walnut blasting too, how many miles...

Can't say it better myself, it's cheap insurance for about $250 DIY and it's not hard to do to boot. New trans in BMW is north of $7K (and that's at indy)

I just replaced plugs on my N55 335i, @40k. car runs smoother not much more power but you can feel it, no CEL whatsoever though....
