I have the auto step, I pop it from Auto to Manual but don't actively shift. All this does is take away overdrive and allows the transmission to auto shift in manual mode without the higher gear no?...

Thanks to this and a couple other video's it took...

Thanks to this and a couple other video's it took me 17 minutes to replace the FSU, saved me $200 easy!

Almost longer to watch the DIY's than it is to actually replace.

You are not missing anything, the piece just shrank. Same issue on my 2001 325i,
My Indi says he sees this all the time. It's just a wee gap but mine shrunk so much it broke the connector...

The weather stripping is all brittle and cracked but it appears to be all one piece of plastic that goes from port to starboard like a cowling of some sort. Anyone have a part number or even a name...

My guess would be the motor or the regulator, was it making any grindy/clicky noises before it failed? If so that's a good sign it's the regulator, had the same issue in mine but it was both driver...

Question Normal Heater/Fan operation?

When I turn on my car, the heater/fan comes on at a "Low" setting. Doesn't matter what state I left the unit in, it always comes on when I start. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I shut off the fan/heater...
