rode 7 hours each way to somewhere once on 22's . Wasnt bad. Drive 4 hours every other weekend for a for months. Wasnt bad either. Just make sure you have a spare.

m3 smg or not will cost you a little bit of extra $$ when you need repairs. Dont buy a BMW if you cant afford the repairs if you were to need any.

I wouldnt say an SMG is unreliable. Its the luck of the draw. The regular 6 mt could have some issues too. Owning any BMW you should expect to pay a bit more for maintenance and repairs.
