does any one wants to trade taillights?

Don't think you're going to get any takers on this one, haha. Pretty sure everyone that has the old style yellow signals (myself included) wants to replace them.

V12 Swap?

There seems to be so little room left with even just the V8 in there. I just can't imagine being able to squeeze 4 extra cylinders in. Not saying it can't be done, of course. I'm sure someone could...

'03 540i bumper missing a piece?

Twisted seats already with only 22k? Did the PO just sit in his garage all day adjusting the seat?

As for your bumper, it looks pretty normal to me. Pretty sure those parts are supposed to...

Coolant bleeding

THANK YOU for answering my question. I figured that's what I'd have to do. In any case, I'm working on setting an appointment to have my system checked and to find this pesky leak.

That really helps me with the problem I was asking about. Thanks.

Coolant bleeding

Well, I'm already fairly sure I have a leak, and I plan to diagnose this very soon. I would like help figuring out why the system doesn't seem to be bleeding properly.

Coolant bleeding

Okay, here's the situation: A couple of days ago, I checked my coolant and it was low (almost low enough to give me a 'check coolant level' warning, but I hadn't gotten the warning yet). I refilled...

How does the Oil service light work?

It's set at an interval of 15k miles I believe. (I ignore the indicator anyway and just change every 5-7.5k miles. Can't be too safe with an old engine)

Running regular M1 5w-30

Yeah, I've run M1 5-30 since I bought the car (about 10k miles ago) and I haven't had a problem since. Done two oil changes. Once when I got it, and another fairly recently.

That's normal for when the A/C is off. Turning the A/C on will boost it to around 650. Unless your engine is idling rough or anything else unusual, this shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not entirely sure. It's possible that the Jan. '97 model had that transmission. My '97 is one of the models built in '96 (the first year they built them). So, maybe they added that transmission...

You are correct. The earlier models (mine is a '97) don't have the "tip-tronic" transmission that allows for manual gear selection. They have Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, 4, 3, and 2. Putting it in...

It's perfectly safe to shift it to that position while driving. All it will do is downshift from 5th to 4th (if you're in 5th already)

I play with it sometimes, but I find that you get essentially...

I'll just confirm what these guys are saying. If you can hear the pump, one of the tubes is probably cracked. Check the tubes directly below the nozzles underneath the hood. These get very brittle...
