Z3 thermostat housing failure... again!!

Changed my thermostat housing in 2008 as preventative medicine. 4 years later and 20,000 miles, the new one failed anyway.
Now I have a metal thermostat housing. (A $630 lesson learned!)

98 Z3- Anyone try a Tire pressure monitoring system?

After losing my right rear tire on a trip due to low tire pressure, I'm considering a TPMS.
Anyone have experience here? Any suggestions on type, cost and brand?
BTW- I know I should have checked...

Z3- Fuel "idiot light" after parking on incline?

I parked on an incline with 1/2 tank of fuel. Came out two hours later and the low fuel red warning light was on.
I thought, WT heck, someone had syphoned my fuel!

Look for a "kink" in the wiring right at the hinge in the trunk lid. Mine shorted there.

Z-3-Wow! Now I/m worried about my radiator!

I replaced my water pump at 93k, but with 103k now, must be time for a new radiator. Arggh! Any checks a mechanic can do in advance? Any suggestions on a decent source for a radiator?

I had an airbag light on and it took cleaning and...

I had an airbag light on and it took cleaning and gooping of some electrical "contacts" under the hood to fix. Not sure where.. Cost $160 in total.
Fuses, however, were not blowing... just the light...

I took it in to my friendly, but not cheap, BMW mechanic.

Guys-
Air bag idiot light just came on out of nowhere and stays on.....
Don't want to compromise with safety.
Anything simple I should check before taking my Z3 in? Fuses look good...

As a happy new owner of a used 98 Z3, I listened to this Forum and had the manual transmission and differentiall fluids changed at 97,000 miles. Was unsure if this had ever been done....

Installed my Mark II center armrest today. Very easy, once I found the instructions online at LeatherZ. Each console has different installation concerns and techniques. Great upgrade. Wish I hadn't...

Yes- It is the foglight. Just did the same replacement yesterday. And it is an H7 bulb, not the H1 Shucks Auto told me from their catalog.

Z3 hardtop feedback

We bought a used hardtop and are very happy. I'm 6'1'' and it seems that the hardtop gives me more head room. Best improvement is it is much quieter and cooler with the A/C. Good luck!

Z3 CD Changer problem

We had the same problem. Try changing to a new magazine first, as this worked for us. (The old magazine seemed to be working just fine.)

I made the same mistake. You need to "start" the roof retracting by about 5 inches before the power takes hold!
