Haven't had to use the one on my E91, but on my E46, it simply snapped into place. The E90 manual says to press on the upper edges of the cover to remove it.

Once all tires are at the proper cold pressure, reset the TPMS as described in your manual. This will establish your current pressures as a baseline and then the TPMS warning should not go off...
