I'd start with a very gentle sanding with 2000 grit wet sanding paper. That'd get rid of the rough bits. Don't remove the sanding marks yet.

Well done Frank. It looks like a million bucks and I'm glad I had sunglasses nearby. Without them, that shine could have done some serious damage to my retinas.
