You can't go by the colour alone - different suppliers may have different colours for the same spec fluid. Its important to use the correct spec as that is formulated to suit the metals in the engine.

Where both plugs exist on a car, only the 20pin is fully wired, so this is the one that should be used. The 16 pin is only useful for on road testing of say, the gearbox.
