E38 and e39's should have a live charger port at all times. BMW has a trickle charger that goes in the lighter port. In some later cars, the lighter does go to sleep, for those, they sell a charger...

Brembo and Zimmerman, and Ate have all been good to me. No Bosch experience. Make sure you don't over tighten the lug bolts, that can get you rotor warping, runout issues
