Looks like time to change the battery.
Radio and clock take almost no power to operate.
Jump starting the car will work, but I'd have the battery tested for sure.

Steering Issue

WD40 is a temporary fix. Had the same issue and eventually replaced the power steering pump. It was the pump impeller shaft.

If the car was an import from Japan, then you're going to have to purchase a new radio. My son has a 91 E34 525i. It was a German mport to Japan then to Canada. We've tried and I even contacted Sony....
