Most likely your heater valve has died. It is either on the fire wall or the brake booster depending if you have a 528e or a 535i. You can get a rebuild kit for 60 dollars from most online places...

I had this problem also, and I could lock everything but the drivers side lock would not come up. I never figured out what the problem was. I just never lock the car.
