Most uses real BMW fluid, which is not holy grail but I like the idea of keep-it-simple, no fuss DOT4, good boiling point too unless you track your car...

No oil expert, but looking at Bob the oil guy website, can't see anything performing better than M1 0W-40 for the price Walmart has been selling it, at 5-quart for $25 before tax.
