Well, it could be a lot of different things and I'm sure some others will chime in here soon enough. I'd suggest a full tune up, plugs (the right ones), cap and rotor, wires, maybe the ignition coil?...

Yes, the only thing Imperial (standard) is the spark plugs socket. I think that's a US thing being 5/8 SP Socket. 21mm SP Might work in Canada, I'm not sure if their's any difference.
