And don't really need boy racer mods...

The car represents more than the sum of its parts...sure it is yours, and you can do what you want...but pretty soon, the costs will outweigh the benefits...

ari tank you might be able to do the leakdown...but, the compression test will give you a general idea...so run the compression test first, look at the numbers, and you may be able to decide which...

I would not start that car again!

I would drop the oil pan and see if there are plastic parts in there. sounds like the guides are gone.. (found by plastic parts in the oil pan) .and a restart...

Fror the record...

It did include valley pan gasket, because when I saw how BMW made theirs, I duplicated it with Silicone and have no leaks BMW uses 2 different silicones in their gasket, so I did exactly the same...

I was exactly where you are, I replaced the tensioner 2 months later the guides went completely, luckily I was doing about 10mph at low revs and shut it down immediately - knowing what it was. Car...

As for the tube under the intake...those are coolant tubes and would require removal of the water pump and in no way associated with a mis-fire same...

Octane is NOTHING more than a fuels resistance to predetonation...

Every time I read these threads they make me laugh! All octane is a measure of resistance to predetonation. Only comes into play on High Compression and forced induction engines. There is NO carbon...
