Hmmm, had the body shop guy put clearcoat on a pair of 535i headlights when he was spraying someones bumper over 5 years ago and they still look like new. I hear marine spar varnish works well too....

Aren't the fasteners stamped nuts that cut threads onto the plastic studs? So you would just use a socket and ratchet and tighten the nut until it snugs down the roundel.

Maybe it depends on user height, I'm 6'1" and the armrest never gets in the way of my elbow. My elbow doesn't come anywhere near the stock elbow pad.

With the engine running, remove the oil filler...

With the engine running, remove the oil filler cap and place a plastic bag over the opening. There should be some vacuum that tries to suck the bag inward. Then do the same with the dipstick tube....
