Suppliers do in fact make a special sauce for pad material for each Manufacturer to their spec. All the "OEM" pad material sold on the after market is just generic recipe that gives them a bit more...

You have to take out cabin air filter, then you will see torx bolts to remove the air filter housing. After that is removed, you can access the rear spark plug. Get a magnetic spark plug socket.
