definitely bypass the factory amp, IMO its too complex for how it performs, any Kenwood 4 channel will outperform that amp, and you really dont need the back speakers to play anything, as the driver...

not normal, when the car is at normal operating temp the needle should be dead center. when it just touches the red its pretty much overheating. have your cooling system checked out
