On line parts supplier

+1 for Bavarian Autosport. I've also been happy with getbmwparts.com. Best price I found for my Mobility Kit was on Amazon.

Ports in Ceiling

They are the anchor points for the forward position of the cargo net. The cargo net/cargo cover was optional in some years as I recall.

HID Bi-Xenon Headlights - Great? Good? So-So?

I agree with the OP about the E30. My '88 325 had excellent halogens. I'm a little disappointed with the F25 as it's xenons seem not quite as good as those of my old E46. I had a 2013 328 loaner a...

Leatherette isn't as durable as I thought.

edbiology - what a disappointing experience! My e46 had 134,000 miles and the leatherette looked nearly as new. I have got to believe that you have a defect that will be covered under warranty.

Mineral Silver/black leather/brushed aluminum

MS does a great job of hiding dirt. I've been surprised how much my wash mitt picks up when the car doesn't even look that dirty. The wheels on the...

Rims Style 308 or 309?

Short sidewall, run-flat tires are not going to let you forget that they're there. To my eyes, the 309's are the best looking of the standard X3 wheels; very aggressive. And I'm willingly making a...

A/C air is not cool when temperatures are high

On hot days I've noticed that, even on MAX, I don't get really cold air until its been running for maybe 5+ minutes or so. After that it's nice and cold :-)

Nit Pick dept

My e46 head the volume on the left side, which makes more sense to me.

Another gripe is that the sun visor doesn't extend far enough when used in the side position.

Using dealer license plate frames

I agree with the OP's comment about non-BMW dealer frames; it's just attention to detail :-)

Check out Weathertech - they make some nice frames and covers.

What would you do, Nav or 35i?

And here's another vote for the 35i. You can always add really cheap, good aftermarket nav. No such option for the extra power (and sound!).

286hp/345lb-ft at the wheels

Wow! Those are some impressive numbers

For the X3, the N55 is the way to go, IMO. I also recommend the Dynamic Handling Package and the Dynamic Damper...

F25 35i at Dyno Day

Yes it's the 8 speed. I saw your issues and was concerned about how my runs would go. But fortunately things went well. In manual mode, I floored it from around 3500 and it held the gear I was in...

F25 35i at Dyno Day

I've searched around but couldn't find any dyno results posted here for the F25. And yesterday was the Dyno Day event for my local BMWCCA chapter, so I thought I'd share my info.

First run; 5th...

BMW's Hide-a-Hitch Reciever rattle

You may find it easier to trim a fraction of an inch off the bike rack (as I did with mine) rather than trying...

manual says AKI 91 or 89?

The manual says 89 is minimum and recommends 91+.

Around here we have choice of 87, 89, and 92.

It's great to hear about that level of service!

Wondering about the restart - did you have to crank it a long time or did the fuel pump quickly pressure the system? Back in ancient times I...

Brake Dust

It sure seems like that for my 2011. iDrive says 18k (rear) and 28k (front) more miles until new pads so I'll be dealing with it for a while even if a new compound pad becomes available.

To the OP's question about finding people that prefer RF's, I can't say I prefer them but neither do I dread them.

I had read so much negative that I had some anxiety when I first got my X3. But...

What is the last bmw I can buy without a turbo?

Should be the 2013 128. Otherwise you'd have to look at a two-wheeled BMW :-)
