Normally I would say stick with the non-ethanol since the DME will compensate for a lower AKI rating. But you have an M car and I think those engines really prefer and are optimised to run on 98 RON...

Germans usually just refer to things by production month/year. Kind of like "the E90 330i got the N53 DI engine...
