The hydraulic tensioner used in the Volvo timing belt provides some tension but not excessive like the serp belt...

The new OEM factory WP uses a composite material and it should last 100K-110K or so. After that it is risky.
But it costs some $100.

HEPU, to me, is the best bang for the bucks b/c it costs only...
