Without giving away too many BMW security secrets I'm gonna have to keep this simple.

The problem was the immobiliser unit itself. In My case I found it behind the glove...

Found the Immobiliser. This one has definately not been installed on original build.
How or why this type has been added, maybe the original 1 packed in & this was a cheaper replacement. Eitherway...

Part 1 solved

Ok I've took the dive & opened the keyfob.

It's basically a transistor attached to a spring (Which connects to the centre ball point area).
It then also connects to a metal outer rim of the ball...

lol. I live in Scotland!. Our monsoon season starts Jan 1st & Ends Dec 31st.
The problem has happened 4 times random weather, but usually damp. It does sound like a moisture issue I agree with that....
