Halogen light have an H* bulb visible in the center of the lens and the reflector surrounding it is dimpled.

DS mode is the cure....revs don't drop below 2K and winds out higher. No more engine lugging along at 1500 RPM. MPG is at 25.2 with 240 miles on the engine, so not really complaining...
