You don't need a vice... did mine without a vice no worries and the Beisan DIY for the VANOS doesn't use a vice... or am impact wrench either for that matter. Have a good read through before...

Another update:

Got a heap of parts during the week, the only thing still on it's way from the US is the VANOS seal kit. The other major bits I was waiting for were the new CCV and the 4 new hoses...
