Thanks jlex. Thats definitely a good suggestion. The only weird thing is this studder / chugging only occurs occasionally and only occurs at 2,800-3,000 rpms. Im assuming if it were a bad fuel pump...

Have you cleaned the idle control valve? It's below the DISA. Looks like a silver cylinder. It needs to be cleaned periodically due to carbon build up.

I hated doing that job. I almost traded the x3 in for a Subaru Forrester because I didn't want to change the evaporator. In the end, I'm glad I kept the x3. Evaporator is still running nice and cold...

You have a defective shock on your hands. Definitely should return those or get a warranty replacement. I had the exact same thing happen to me. The damping rod on the new one was about 2 inches...
