yes you can charge the battery from the post under the bonnet (hood), the neutral is also under the bonnet aswell it's on the inner wing on the right hand side towards the front.

So you have removed all the items in the link I sent above, if so it should just pull forward, might be tight as there is a seal on it as its water cooled. Expect some water to come out when you pull...
