Look on eBay/craigslist for a used factory replacement. I know someone somewhere who purchased two for almost nothing and a shop installed them. It's a knuckle buster of a job.

Are you expeciting both lights to be illuminated with the "high beam" on? If so, they won't be. The inner beam is the flash to pass on bi-xenon equipped cars.

They say plugs every 100k...

I had the same issue... rebulit my DISA valve, cleaned the ICV really well. This improved quite a bit, but not all. Replaced the seals in my VANOS unit and new plugs - WOW! If I didn't know better...
