Unused 2007 E60 now faulting on AWD

I purchased me E60 in the late summer of 2006. The car has pretty low mileage because I travel a lot.. and in 2014 I moved to Europe and left the car garaged.

In late 2014 it was back on the road...

The wheel heats up quickly and REAL hot.. That's plenty of indication for me..

Wouldn't you turn it on when you first et into a cold car and be stationary anyway?
