they sold cars with both systems. Our Canadian cars both have the indirect system. Either way the pressure sensors are extra cost, I bought a set for a 2012 Ford about $250 for the 4 of them.

we got our '07 used from a 3 year lease. No leaks driving in the rain but we also don't take it to a high pressure car wash, we hand wash it.
Easy to check, take it home and spray it with a hose.......

New tires on the front and old worn ones on the back is a bad combo. Most shops will not do it because the car will oversteer at the limit and most drivers will not know how to handle it and crash....
