Downsides to more powerful Dual Orbitals?

I'd planned to just go with the 7424XP since that was pretty much the universal recommendation. But a few Amazon reviews suggested it wasn't powerful enough and a more powerful unit is easier to use....

I take it the colors of the pads are a standardized thing and all brands will be in that order...
