could it be the heat shield on the cat converter? The only thing I've experienced on start up that only lasts a few seconds in a chirping or squealing noise that come from the belt...

Thanks for the reply ahull. I always check my oil when the car has been sitting for hours and is on level surfaces. Car still runs great- no rough idling, no blue or black smoke from the exhaust etc....
