Ok, that's 2 cars out of a hundred + models. Still say it could be a fixed cam if BMW wanted to do it. I believe they decided on the motorized cam for the James Bond effect.

My point is ALL other automakers make their rearview cameras work without resorting to a complex motorized system. Design in how the camera is angled & field of view do the job.

Well, no other BMW model has the motorized camera, and they look fine, as do Benz, Porsche, Jag ( and everyone else) Current rear cams are so small they are easy to hide.

As cool at the motorized camera is, I think it's a unnecessary feature that is something that can go wrong. Every other car made gets by with a fixed rearview cam. And it cost us a power trunk !!

That would work, but have to imagine a second visor set would not be cheap. And there is wiring for the vanity lights. so no idea how easy the swap would be. The stickers really are a great solution.
