If you have the front light washers, I believe that 3rd pump is different. Last time I did it years ago, there were three pumps. 2 the same, 1 was bigger. I replaced both that were the same.

The BMW VCG gaskets do not last long. I agree. I think I can get 40k-50k max out of them until they start to break down.

Is it a critical item to fail? No, you can live with a weeping gasket...

They prolly didnt put back on the level sensor or broke it putting in front struts. It should be connected to the front control arm (forgot if passenger or driver side).

Put a screw driver through the coil "hole" that happens to be the fastner. Yank it upwards a few times with both hands. It will break.

My rear springs are being shipped via amazon vendor. They will be put in when the mechanic overhauls all the control arms/tie rods on the car.

Suppliers do in fact make a special sauce for pad material for each Manufacturer to their spec. All the "OEM" pad material sold on the after market is just generic recipe that gives them a bit more...
