Just had a set of PS2s mounted to replace the RE040s, and my initial reaction is mixed... they seem quieter, but they also feel so soft! Almost squishy, dare I say. Perhaps they need to be broken...

The Alpine will work just fine in your 330i (you don't have DSP). I have the CHA-S634 in my 05 330i and it works great. And make sure you pick up factory brackets for the changer at your parts...

I agree, $39k is absurd. I checked edmunds.com and entered this car's specs, they suggested $33.5k from a private party, or $37.3k at dealer retail. So I think $34k is a good price.

I don't know anyone that purchased a manual tranny for the minimal gain in fuel efficiency. To me, the only reason to purchase a manual transmission would be if you actually enjoy shifting your own...
