Use JB Weld to form a newer/fixed support and then carefully whittle it down so the cable run free in it. Helped another guy do a similar thing on his car.

Based on the replacement cost of the sensors, and my personal experience, if the OP has the new ones, then install them. Not worth trying to save maybe $30 bucks at best.
