Mechanics aren't magic fairies. This is a level 3 or 4 between 1 and 10. If you have sockets you can do it. If you have skinny flexible hands you can do it faster.

If it's the FOB only one should do it. Also you could check and see if it's sending a signal (probably an app for that). If I were to take a guess I would start with the receiver or car battery.

I wasn't planning on changing the whole assembly. Just the bulbs. I found what I was looking for but so far I'm not impressed with LED's replacing stock bulbs.

Yeah, I don't blame you. 1.5k for new cats are painful. The codes you pulled say that something is wrong but not what. Mine was the air intake that caused the cats to go bad.
