Make sure you ask if they overheated it as a result of a failed water pump. if they did, run.

My BMW Tech assures me that if properly cared for, it'll last approx. 180+K miles.

Good luck man. I was just chasing a smokey start condition that ended in disaster (cracked head or blown head gasket). I've got a new engine planned in the VERY near future.
