I have an 84 325e as well. I would recommend an oil change, water pump, timing chain, and motor mounts. And when you are in there, clean and inspect every thing you can.

Done anything to the bird recently? I discovered I make 260/360 HP/ft.lbs to the wheels with a smog cam in my 454. Lol. 330 lift and -40 overlap.
