You should try placing a wanted to buy add in several forums. A lot of guys replace the clock with an oil pressure gauge or boost gauge, etc. You should be able to find a good used one pretty cheap....

The Koni rear shocks for our cars don't have dials. You have to disconnect the bottom of the shock then fully collapse it, then twist it to make changes. The detailed directions are on Koni's web...

The dealer told me that they sent a fax with my serial number to BMW headquarters in Germany. I had to wait for 1 1/2 days to get the reply because of the time difference.

I think that most of the techs are ignorant about this particular problem and they don't like to be told they are WRONG.
INSIST that you get all the possible codes for your serial number FROM BMW....

It could be your chuch fan is locked up. It will make quite a racket if that happens. Gab the fan and see if you can spin it, there should be some resistance but if you can't turn it, it's locked up...
